Our Crew

Julian Szymkowiak-Larsen

CEO, Founder, and Creator

I didn’t start True Blue with a big team, flashy money, or some polished launch. It started with me — one person who gave a damn about the ocean and saw too many people looking the other way.

I grew up on the coast. The ocean wasn’t some abstract thing to me — it was real, it was alive, and it was being wrecked. The more I learned about IUU fishing — Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated fishing — the more it felt like the world was asleep to it. We’re talking stolen fish, destroyed ecosystems, broken economies, and human rights violations, all happening right now out on the water. And barely anyone’s talking about it.

So I decided to change that.

True Blue was born to do what others weren’t: raise awareness, spark real change, and call out the shady systems killing our seas. No sugarcoating. No fake solutions. Just facts, movement, and action.

Right now, it’s just me running things. But I’m building — linking up with future partners, forming a crew of people who actually care, and creating a space that cuts through the noise.

This isn’t just about fish. It’s about truth, accountability, and keeping the ocean alive for the next generation.

True Blue isn’t a brand. It’s a reminder:
Stay real. Stay grounded. Stay true to the deep.

One Ocean. One Mission. One Step at a Time.

Hi — and welcome to True Blue. My name is [Your Name], and I'm the founder, creator, and currently the only person behind this project. I started True Blue because I care deeply about our oceans and the devastating impact that Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing is having on marine life, coastal communities, and the future of our planet.

This isn’t a massive organization (yet). It’s one person with a vision — to raise awareness, share real solutions, and help others understand why IUU fishing is a crisis we can’t ignore.

What True Blue Stands For

True Blue is built on a simple belief: the ocean matters.
Here’s what we’re working toward:

  • Education – Helping people understand what IUU fishing is and why it’s dangerous.

  • Transparency – Highlighting what’s being done and what still needs to happen.

  • Action – Encouraging small steps that lead to real change, like supporting sustainable seafood or amplifying ocean-friendly efforts.

Where We're Headed

Right now, it’s just me — but I’m actively looking for partners, collaborators, and contributors who care about ocean protection and want to help this grow. Whether you’re a student, scientist, artist, educator, or advocate, there’s space here for you.

Why IUU Fishing?

Because it’s more than just illegal – it’s unfair, destructive, and often hidden. IUU fishing threatens ecosystems, economies, and human rights. And the more we learn about it, the more we realize: we can do something about it — but only if more people know and care.

Join Me

If this mission speaks to you, I’d love for you to get involved. Share what you learn. Reach out with ideas. Or just follow along as True Blue grows into something bigger — together.

Thanks for being here.
Let’s protect what’s worth saving.
